Bradesco is undoubtedly one of Brazil’s most popular banks and certainly one of it’s most successful ones. A company doesn’t become one of the best on it’s own. A company’s success is typically thanks to it’s leader and Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi is one such leader.
He has been in charge of the company for the past years and is now making room for Octavio Lazari Junior to become the CEO, as he becomes the chairman of Bradesco. Octavio Lazari Junior has an interesting past, which at first wouldn’t have looked like it would have brought him to become the head of a top Brazilian bank.
In fact, Lazari Junior wanted to be a professional football player. Yet, when his father who was a client of one of the Bradesco banks encouraged him to pursue a career, Lazari chose instead to dedicate himself to the world of banking. He filled a vacancy in the Bradesco branch where his father did his banking and soon realized that he could become more and do more in the professional world. He certainly wouldn’t be replacing Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi, if he hadn’t taken the decision to let football dreams go.
Thanks to tradition in Bradesco, CEO Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi had a decision to make for his successor from within the company. Ocatvio has more than 15 years in the company and has proven himself to be a trustworthy part of Bradesco.
With a strong commitment to the bank, many expect Lazari to continue to lead the company to success as Trabuco did. With a degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences of Osasco, and also specialized in Financial Strategies and Marketing (from the Fundacao Instituto de Adminstracao), he has both the education and the experience to take on the role of a bank’s CEO.
Will Octavio Lazari Junior live up to Trabuco’s legacy? Only time will tell. Luiz started off at a very young age and has been with the bank for many years now. Starting off as a clerk, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi has risen to a high position within the company, but it took time and commitment to Bradesco for him to get there. He became department head, executive Vice President, marketing director and president. He worked for Bradesco for almost fifty years. He received Entrepreneur of the Year last 2015.
Lazari has also been a committed player in the company and continues to be, especially now as he takes over Trabuco’s position and strives to not only keep their present success, but to better it.
